Boat Lake Como, from Bellagio to Como

If you are staying in Milan or elsewhere and planning to visit Bellagio for exploration, you can consider different ferry routes to enhance your experience. Instead of returning to your initial ferry departure point, like Varenna, you have two options:

From Bellagio to Como

After exploring Bellagio, you can take a scenic ferry ride to Como. The journey offers breathtaking views and is one of the most picturesque ferry trips I have experienced. Ferry rides offer multiple options: a fast route takes 45 minutes to 1 hour, while the regular boat route ranges from 1 hour and 30 minutes to 3 hours and 30 minutes. If you have time, the longer route is worth it, offering views of charming villages and villas along the lake shores.

From Como to Bellagio

Alternatively, you can arrive in Como and then take a ferry to Bellagio. This route also offers scenic views and is a great way to appreciate the beauty of Lake Como.

Lecco Lake Como on the way to Varenna-Esino station

During my visit, we initially took a train from Milan Centrale train station to Varenna-Esino train station. Afterwards, we took a 15-minute ferry from Varenna to Bellagio. For our departure, we took the regular boat from Bellagio to Como, which lasted 3 hours and 30 minutes.

While it was a bit longer than expected, the experience was entirely worthwhile, given the opportunity to witness the captivating lakeside scenery, including charming villages and luxurious villas.

In conclusion, whether you choose to travel from Bellagio to Como or vice versa, the ferry rides on Lake Como offer an unforgettable journey through stunning landscapes and elegant surroundings. It’s an excellent way to immerse yourself in the beauty of the region and create lasting memories of your trip.
