Cavtat, situated on a peninsula encompasses two harbors with a pretty promenade filled with restaurants and pebbly beaches.Originally established as a Greek settlement named Epidaurus in the 6th century BC, Cavtat now lies a mere 25 minutes away from Dubrovnik.
If you prefer a more relaxing place to stay, Cavtat may be a better location to use as a hub for your trip. Cavtat has multiple hotels near the sea and restaurants to relax and savor good food.
During my initial trip to Dubrovnik, I opted to stay near Gruz Harbor for its convenient location. However, for my future visit, I am considering Cavtat as my hub to enjoy a more serene and peaceful experience, away from the crowds.

How to Get to Cavtat from Dubrovnik
Cavtat lies approximately 12 miles away from Dubrovnik, offering travelers various convenient transportation options to journey between the two locations.
By Uber: Traveling from Cavtat to Dubrovnik’s Old Town using Uber typically takes around 25 minutes.
By Boat: Adriana Boats offers daily boat services between Cavtat and Dubrovnik, providing a convenient and scenic option for travel. The journey duration can range from approximately 45 minutes with no stops to up to 1 hour and 30 minutes with stops along the way. Departing from the old Dubrovnik port, the boats transport passengers to Cavtat’s main promenade.
By Water Taxi: Water taxi services are also available for transportation between Cavtat and Dubrovnik, with multiple companies offering this convenient option.

Cavtat to Dubrovnik Airport
Located a mere 5 miles away from Dubrovnik Airport, Cavtat presents a highly convenient and attractive destination. Its proximity to both the airport and Dubrovnik makes it an ideal choice for travelers. The journey from the airport to Cavtat takes approximately 10 minutes, allowing you to swiftly reach your destination and begin your exploration of this charming coastal town.

The Franciscan Monastery and Church also referred to as the Monastery of Our Lady of the Snow, showcases an exquisite blend of Gothic and Renaissance architectural styles. Situated atop St. Rocco Hill, the monastery features a bell tower. Unfortunately, the original church was destroyed during the devastating earthquake of 1667. Over the years, the monastery served various functions, including as a health department, port authority, and post office. Today, Our Lady of the Snow has been transformed into an affordable bed & breakfast facility, providing a unique accommodation experience.
